The Perfect Green Smoothie

Green, creamy, tangy and sweet, this plant cocktail is one of the best ways to wake up. It's simple to make, but the devil is in the details––check out my notes below for the perfect green smoothie.

 

Ingredients + Instructions 

  • 1 cup frozen greens (Major 🔑, get a pre-washed baby kale mix and freeze it in snack sized Ziplocs. So much better than the frozen bag.)
  • 1/2 banana, frozen 🍌 (Same key as the greens–it's what makes it creamy.)
  • 1/4 cup frozen mango (I actually like this out of the bag **unless you're reading this from Hawaii.**)
  • Juice from 1 orange (Get Valencia–they're the juiciest. 🍊 I also throw in about half the pulp.)
  • Juice of 1/2 a lime (This may be the total game changer–the acidity adds brightness and balances the sweet.)👌🏼
  • 1 Tbsp chia seeds (These guys are awesome because they are a complete protein that keep you full and deliver even energy throughout the day.)
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut/almond milk (My favorite brand is Califia Farms, but whatever you choose just double check the sugar–(should be less than a few grams, if any) it's a sneaky bitch)
  • BLEND IT! + 😍
